Kia has revealed that the diesel-automatic variant of the Seltos will be available on the top-spec GTX+ trim, which will be the most premium variant.
Kia Motors is going to launch the Seltos SUV in India on 22nd of August, as its first product in the segment dominated by Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta and MG Hector. It will be available in two Trims – Tech Line and GT Line.
Kia has now confirmed that the GT Line will get diesel-automatic on the top-of-the-line GTX+ trim. This trim was earlier going to be available only with a turbo-petrol engine and DCT gearbox.
So, the Kia Seltos GTX+ Diesel Automatic will come equipped with features such as heads-up display, 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, six-airbags, hill-hold control, electronic stability control and much more.
Kia Seltos is the first car in India to be offered with four gearbox options. 6-speed manual gearbox is standard on all the three engines. The petrol engine comes with CVT gearbox, diesel with AT and the turbo-petrol with DCT.
It uses a 1.4 Litre turbo-petrol engine, which produces 142 BHP and 242 Nm of peak torque. The 1.5 Litre petrol engine gives out 115 BHP and 144 Nm of peak torque and the 1.5 Litre diesel gives 115 BHP and 250 Nm of peak torque.
The Tech Line misses out on a lot of features that come in the GT line variants. The main difference between the Tech and GT line is that the latter gets more sporty bits on the exterior as well as inside the cabin.
The bookings for the SUV have commenced across all Kia dealerships. Seltos achieved a record of getting 6046 bookings in just a day. As of now, the 25,000 bookings mark has crossed and the waiting period will be available soon after the launch.
Our dealership sources have confirmed that Kia will commence the deliveries of Seltos very soon after the launch, this month itself. It will be priced in the Rs 10-17 Lakhs range, the top-spec GTX+ with turbo petrol-DCT and diesel-auto priced the highest.
