Mahindra and Ford have recently signed 5 memoranda of understanding. The alliance of these two companies is going to result in several new products from both the manufacturers. These new products are going to aim at India as well as other emerging markets around the world. The partnership will help Ford with Mahindra’s expertise in India. While simultaneously, it is going to help Mahindra through Ford’s expansive technological know-how. Under this alliance, the companies are going to produce one mid-size and one compact SUV which they will sell separately under their own brand names. Furthermore, the joint venture will also result in the birth of a budget electric vehicle for India. Most noteworthy, according to a recent report published in Moneycontrolm, the mid-size SUV is likely to launch in India by the year 2021.

Ford and Mahindra’s alliance enlists access to each other’s vehicles architectures and electric powertrains as well as sourcing and distributing networks. The upcoming announcement of the alliance between Ford and Mahindra will give rise to the upcoming Ford SUV and Aspire Electric. As many competitors in the international market have been fighting for the entry level electric car post, the Aspire electric would be Ford’s answer.
