Virat Kohli Puts Petrol Instead of Diesel in Tata Safari

Tata Safari (old model) was the first vehicle which Virat Kohli purchased on his own. He is one of the biggest cricketers in the world. In fact, he is widely considered by many as the greatest batsman of today’s generation, and even among the best of all time. Being an eminent celebrity in India and celebrated across the various cricketing nations across the globe, he loves to splurge on exotic automobiles. In fact, he has been the brand ambassador for Audi India for a long time. During this time, he owned tons of top Audi cars. However, this tale is about his old Tata Safari.

Virat Kohli On His Tata Safari

This post comes from the official Star Sports channel on YouTube. A prominent sports presenter Jatin Sapru is in conversation with Virat. This is an old video clip from IPL 2023. The two are standing next to the Audi SUV of King Kohli. During this conversation, he mentions that he recalls the time when all he wanted to buy was sportscars. Hence, owning an Audi R8 was one of the biggest highlights of his career. However, now that he is a family man and has children, he says that he looks for practical and spacious SUVs. Therefore, the desire for sports cars is no longer there.

At one point in this interview, he remembers that his first car was the old Tata Safari. He bought it just for its road presence. In fact, he and his brother were so excited to drive it around while it was new that they got the music system installed and went to the petrol pump. Since his brother was not paying attention, they ended up filling it with petrol instead of diesel. As expected, the SUV struggled to move. Once they realized what had happened, they had to call the service staff from Tata Motors to empty the tank completely and refill it again with diesel after cleaning.

Car Collection of Virat Kohli

Over the years, Virat Kohli has come a long way from owning that Safari. Primarily due to his contract with Audi, he owned innumerable cars from the German car marque. These include the R8, TT, R8 LMX, A8L, Q7, e-tron among others. In fact, he still uses the e-tron electric car. Apart from that, his garage also contains luxury vehicles like Bentley Flying Spur, Bentley Continental GT and Range Rover Autobiography. Hence, it is clear that he still possesses an impressive car collection. However, his main focus now lies on practical and spacious SUVs.
