Volkswagen India has launched a mid variant (trim level) โ€œComfortlineโ€ of the Volkswagen Vento Diesel Sedan in India. So far, there were only two variants in the diesel lineup of Volkswagen in India, the base variant Volkswagen Vento TDI Trendline and Volkswagen Vento TDI Highline. The prices of the Vento Diesel Ex-showroom Delhi are approx. Rs. 8.17 Lakhs for the base variant and Rs. 9.77 Lakhs for the top end Trendline(Click here for details). The mid-variant Comfortline which has been just introduced is priced at Rs. 8.74 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi (and Rs. 8.56 ex-showroom Maharashtra). This way, Vento Diesel buyers now have a middle variant to choose from. This will help Volkswagen get some of the market share from the competing cars like the Maruti SX4 Diesel, its own sibling Skoda Rapid Diesel and Nissan Sunny Diesel which is priced very aggressively.

The feature list of the Vento Comfortline includes โ€“ Body coloured exterior door handles and outside rear view mirrors. Radio with CD and MP3 audio system, rear seat central arm-rest, front and rear fog lamps, Height adjustable driver sears, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirror etc. additional to the basic features of the base Trendline variant.

Vento Diesel now comes in three well spaced diesel engined variants with different feature sets suiting to the needs of different customers with different price points. This will help give some push the sales higher as diesel cars are in higher demand after the prices of petrol have become very high compared to the diesel priced in past few years.
