Ford India has launched the much-awaited replacement of the Figo hatchback just months after the launch of the Figo Aspire Compact Sedan. The outgoing model was very well received by Indian customers helping Ford establish itself as a household name. However, it did not age as well as the company would have liked it to losing out to newer competition. With the second generation Figo, Ford will be hoping to emulate the previous iteration’s success and regain some of the market share it has lost over the years. The new Ford Figo will be available in both petrol and diesel engines and is likely to feature best-in-class comfort and safety features. In India, the new Figo will lock horns with the likes of Maruti Swift, Honda Brio and the Hyundai Grand i10.

- 98.5 bhp 1.5 L Diesel with 5-speed manual
- 110 bhp 1.5 L Petrol with 6-speed automatic
Its chief rival, the Maruti Swift, comes with a 1197 cc petrol engine producing 85 BHP of maximum power at 6000 rpm and a 1248 cc diesel engine which churns out 73 BHP power at 4000 rpm, mated 5-speed manual gearbox.
