There has been a lot of confusion surrounding the India launch of the 2017 Ford EcoSport. While most publications had been reporting an early 2017 launch, our sources suggested otherwise. Now, it seems the speculations on the facelift-ed EcoSport‘s India launch date have been incorrect. Instead of launching the facelift, Ford India has introduced some new features on the pre-facelift model. The facelift that made its debut late last year at the Los Angeles Auto Show will come out only by Diwali. Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming 2017 Ford EcoSport update for India.

2017 Ford EcoSport Update Launch Date

The 2017 model of the EcoSport is likely to arrive in showrooms by the end of January. Again, this will not be the comprehensive facelift that made its debut recently. The only additions will be in the form of new features. Updated units of the EcoSport have already started rolling out of Ford’s manufacturing facility and have even been spotted at dealerships.

2017 Ford EcoSport Update Price in India
Prices of the top end Titanium trims go up by around Rs. 20,000 thanks to the additional features. Apart from that, we’re not expecting any major hike in prices. Here’s the updated price list of the Ford EcoSport

While the touchscreen is a welcome addition, Ford has done way with quite a few features. Despite that, Ford has increased prices of the top end trims by 20k.

2017 Ford EcoSport Features
The EcoSport is already a fairly feature rich offering. However, its closest rival the Maruti Vitara Brezza still holds a slight advantage in terms of equipment on offer. The highlight of the 2017 Ford EcoSport update will be a new touchscreen infotainment system. Notable changes include
- Touchscreen infotainment system (new)
- Reverse parking camera (new)
- New alloy wheels
However, Ford has made quite a few omissions as well. The Trend variant loses out on rear defogger, passenger side vanity lamp, reclining rear seats, 60:40 split seats and rear wash wipe. None of the variants, not even the top end Titanium and Titanium+ trims get cooled glovebox, daytime running lamps, chrome scuff plate, driver seat armrest, lumbar support, leather wrapped gear knob and hand brake.

There will be no changes made to the specifications of the updated EcoSport. It will continue with the three engine options that Ford currently offers.
