The facelifted Audi A5 packs new design and the 12.3-inch virtual cockpit instrument cluster receives navigation upgrades.
Recently, the A4 from Audi’s sedan lineup got a mid-cycle facelift. And to follow the trend, now the 2019 Audi A5 has received a facelift internationally. The changes include under the hood apart from some exterior changes and tech features upgraded inside.
The 2019 Audi A5 Facelift gets inspired from the A4 and sees front and rear bumper change. A wider grille and large air intakes can be visually seen along with the LED headlights being standard. One can choose the matrix style lamps but that is counted as an optional upgrade.
The front grille sees horizontal slats while the cars available in S line trim gets honeycomb styling. This is usually done to differentiate the higher models from the lower ones.
Now taking you through the changes on the inside then the sedan gets a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as connectivity features.
The interface has been borrowed from the elder siblings, A7 and A8, and the large 12.3-inch virtual cockpit instrument cluster receives navigation upgrades. All the models get WiFi hotspot which can be used for over the air software updates.
Mechanically, the A5 gets a choice of mild-hybrid engine for the first time. The starting of the four trims of the A5’s four-cylinder petrol and diesel motor will get 12V mild-hybrid engine. This works with the start-stop system which improves the efficiency of the car and reduces CO2 emissions too.
Coming to the Indian markets, the pre-facelift model of A5 starts at a price tag of Rs 60.40 lakh for the Sportback 40 TDI and the S5 sees a price tag of Rs 72.45 lakh. The more powerful of the lineup Audi RS5 comes at Rs 1.11 crore. All prices are in context to ex-showroom, Delhi.
