Mahindra & Mahindra are accepting the bookings of the new Bolero through websites and dealerships.

Mahindra recently updated the safety features of the Bolero 2019. The SUV now gets an addition of Anti-Lock Braking System. With the new safety norms coming in like high-speed alert system, seat belt reminders, driver side airbag, rear parking sensors and ABS, the Bolero only gets the latter option and we expect other features to come soon.

With the addition of ABS, Mahindra Bolero Power Plus will be quite premium than the ongoing price tag starting at Rs 7.56 lakh. We can expect that the manufacturer upgrades the Bolero with other safety measures too which will come into effect from October 1, 2019.

Mahindra Bolero will also see a new BS6 engine to comply with the 2020 emission norms. The manufacturer plans to upgrade the on-going Bolero only with the addition of rules and regulations until the new model arrives. Currently, Mahindra offers two versions of Bolero and the larger trim which houses the 2.5L engine will be discontinued soon.

2019 Mahindra Bolero does not see any mechanical changes and continues to get the same 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The Power Plus trim which is the sub-4-metre Bolero takes the tax benefits for vehicles under four metres. To achieve the sub-4m length, front and rear bumpers have been chopped off and the SUV gets identical wheelbase.

There have not been many changes on the interiors and exteriors as such and gets dual tone interiors, digital instrument cluster, single din audio system which is available in top variant of the Bolero.

Mahindra will also discontinue the Xylo and Bolero long version. The old Bolero which is a long one at 4,221 mm and the Xylo will end its term as with the growing competition and low sales are also the reason for their discontinuation.

Mahindra Xylo was launched in 2009 and turned out to be good in the MPV market and for cab aggregators. However, the lack of features and old design will lead to the discontinuation of the car.

Talking about the discontinuation of Mahindra vehicles, the DI variant of the Thar has also been discontinued. The manufacturer will launch the โ€˜signature editionโ€™ of the SUV which will be limited to just 700 units. The vehicle will sport ABS but will still not meet the regulatory crash norms and thus will be eligible for sales till September 2019.
