Tata Motors is planning to update almost its entire portfolio with plenty of new cars in the coming months.

Here is the list of 5 upcoming cars from Tata Motors in a few months’ time. Tata Motors is one of the country’s largest car manufacturers. In fact, it has constantly been clipping at the heels of Hyundai to dislodge it off the second place on the list of monthly sales. Hyundai has been in the second position behind Maruti Suzuki for decades now. With the popularity of Tata products, particularly in the last few years, it is getting closer and closer each month to grabbing that second spot. To bolster its fleet, there are some attractive upcoming products. Here are the details of these cars.

Tata Punch EV

Tata Motor is already a market leader in the EV space in our market. In fact, it owns over 80% of market share. Its Nexon EV has been the top-selling electric car in the country since its inception for years now. To further strengthen its electric portfolio, Tata Motors will introduce the electric iteration of the Punch micro SUV. It might incorporate a 25.58 kWh Lithium-ion battery sourced from the Taigo model. This battery is expected to provide an estimated range of approximately 320-350 km on a single charge.

The electric motor is projected to deliver a respectable performance with 74 hp and 114 Nm of peak power and torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels through a single-speed transmission, enabling acceleration from 0 to 80 km/h in approximately 13.5 seconds. The anticipated top speed is around 85 km/h, with a primary focus on maximizing driving range. It’s worth noting that these specifications are akin to those of the Tiago EV. In our market, the Punch EV is set to rival the Citroen e-C3. We might see it in the flesh by November 2023.

Then there is the Altroz Racer edition. Tata showcased it at the Auto Expo 2023 in New Delhi. Note that this special edition will be a sportier version of the regular Altroz. It will rival the Hyundai i20 N Line. Essentially, the carmaker will try to woo the performance enthusiasts with this model. It could feature the Nexon-sourced 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine making 120 hp and 170 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine could come with either a 6-speed manual or a DCT automatic transmission. This will transform the premium hatchback into a hot hatchback. We might see this on our roads in a few months as well. There will also be aesthetic changes to set it apart from the regular model.
