Bajaj has only unveiled the scooter, revealing its features and styling. While the scooter uses a 4kW electric motor and a unique automated transmission, the battery specifications have not been revealed yet. What we do know is that the lithium-ion battery pack is non-removable, and Bajaj claims a real-world range of 95km in Eco Mode and 85km in Sport mode.

The manufacturer has also confirmed that the electric Chetak will be priced between Rs 1 Lakh to Rs 1.2 Lakhs. The official prices will be revealed next year, but Bajaj has confirmed that it will be priced very attractively and competitively. Also, we are not sure if these prices are ex-showroom on-road prices. Bajaj has also confirmed that it will be positioned as a premium scooter rivalling the likes of Ather 450 and Okinawa i-Praise electric scooters. If these will be the price of the electric Bajaj Chetak, it is bound to catch some eyes.

Highlights include alloy wheels, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, keyless start, a fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connection, CBS, front disc brakes, front apron pocket and reverse mode. The styling of the Chetak is quite similar to the original model, especially with all the sculpted side fenders and rear portion. Although, you can also find some similarity with the Vespa Electrica, which is available globally.

The warranty Bajaj is providing for the Chetak is one of the longer warranty tenures in the industry of electric two-wheelers. The Chetak will be available with a warranty of 3 years or 50,000 km as standard. We will have to wait a couple more weeks to know exactly how much the new Bajaj Chetak will cost, but for now, potential customers in Pune and Bengaluru have a time frame to look forward to.
