Jeep will soon launch a limited edition variant of the Compass called the ‘Night Eagle’ with an all-black paint scheme.

So what set the Jeep Compass Night Eagle apart? Well, the name already has some hint. The Jeep Compass Night Eagle is a complete blacked-out version of the standard Compass. It comes painted exclusively in shade of black with gloss black detailing on the grille and along the window surrounds. It also gets black Jeep badges and the 18-inch alloy wheels also come painted in gloss black.

On the inside, the Compass Night Eagle gets a special techno’ part-leather seat upholstery and also gloss black inserts around the infotainment system and the AC vents. In terms of equipment, the Compass Night Eagle is based on the Longitude trim and carries most of its features. That includes an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone automatic climate control, push-button start with keyless entry, Xenon projector headlamps, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, ESP and hill-start assist and more.

There are however no changes under the hood. The Compass Night Eagle edition will continue with the two powertrain options from the standard Compass. That includes a 1.4L turbo-petrol engine that produces 163hp and 250Nm and a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine that produces 173hp and 350Nm. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. There’s also an automatic gearbox option with both engines. While the petrol engine gets a 7-speed dual-clutch auto, the diesel engine gets a 9-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox.

The Night Eagle will also get Jeep’s four-wheel-drive system on the diesel version with a terrain response system. While this limited Night Eagle edition will spice things up for the Compass for some while, there’s a facelift lined up for the Compass that’s scheduled for a launch in early 2021. It will be quite a comprehensive facelift with significant changes to the design inside and out. Following that, Jeep also has a 7-seater version of the Compass in store for us that could feature a more powerful iteration of the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine.
