KTM Duke 250

Here is a top-speed drag race between Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and KTM Duke 250, both of them having literally the same engine.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 are based on the KTM Duke 250 itself, borrowing the same engine and other components. Its basically a Swedish motorcycle but recently acquired by KTM. The design of all these three bikes is completely different as KTM comes out to be a bit flashy, these motorcycles are subtle and aggressive.

Since both of them share the engine, let’s find out who will be the winner in their drag race. In this video, you can see the Svartpilen 250 paired up against the Duke 250. Note, we do not endorse such videos and people who are doing such videos. We discourage everyone to do these races or stunts safely, in a controlled environment.

As the race starts, we can see the Duke taking the early lead and gaining speed quickly. Very soon, the Duke overtakes Husqvarna, however, towards the end, we see the latter taking the lead in the top-speed run. Both can be seen crossing 140 km/hr, but its Husqvarna which attains the higher top speed among both.

In the second row, you can see again, Duke taking an early lead. However this time, the Husqvarna catches up real quick and till the end, both maintain parallel distance. Towards the red line, both of them cross at the same time. Duke is actually about 13 kilograms heavier and also offers additional 250 RPM of peak torque range.

Both of them are naked street bikes that go with the same riding posture and same level of aerodynamics. This cane be termed as a case of pure riding skill or better gear shifting. The Duke 250 is priced at Rs 2.05 Lakhs, while the Svartpilen comes in Rs 20,000 cheaper for Rs 1.85 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Both can be bought from the KTM showroom itself.
