After revealing the HUD of the 2022 Maruti Baleno through a teaser video, the company seems to have thrown light on the other new features
Recently, Maruti Suzuki teased one of the most important new features of the 2022 Baleno – Heads Up Display (HUD). And now, we’ve got our hands on a promotional image from a dealership that highlights other new features of the upcoming update. Bookings for the 2022 Maruti Baleno are already underway and the new car is expected to launch later this month.

Exterior and Interior
As per the image you see above, the 2022 Maruti Baleno will feature 7 major updates other than the inclusion of the HUD. Outside, the biggest change will come in the form of new headlights and taillights that will be bigger than the ones seen on the outgoing model. Other than this, the grille will be wider and a tad sleeker than what you find on the existing car. However, it looks like the alloys will be carried over from the current model. The new car will be sold in six colour options, out of which at least two will be new to the colour palette.
A lot more will change inside, which means the cabin will feel almost totally new. The dashboard will be different from the one seen on the outgoing car and will hold a new free-standing 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that will offer Wireless Android and Apple CarPlay. Also, the instrument console will be new and will feature a coloured MID. The flat-bottom steering wheel will come from the Dzire and the climate control will feature new toggle switches. Another new feature will be the wireless smartphone charger. As before, there will be no sunroof even on the top-spec variant.

2022 Maruti Baleno Safety and Specs
Another huge upgrade will come in form of the thicker sheetmetal and a revised platform. While this could lead to an increase in the weight, the higher safety should widen the popularity of the car. Also, it’s said that Maruti could be aiming for a 5-star score from Global NCAP for its refreshed hatchback. Specifications will be revealed closer to the launch but rumours abound that the top-of-the-line variant will be available with an optional 1.5-litre K-series engine from the Brezza. If true, this should make the Baleno as potent as the Turbo petrol variant of the i20. What’s for sure, however, is that the 1.2-litre Dualjet Dual-VVT engine will be carried over, expectedly, with some minor tweaks. Currently, it offers a maximum power of 90 PS along with a peak torque of 113 Nm. The CVT option will be replaced with an AMT, which is something that should help the carmaker price the new model competitively.
