Mahindra XUV700 is staying ahead of its competition for a while. But how does it compare to itself? Lets take a look!

The Mahindra XUV700 is one of the most popular SUVs in the country. Despite long waiting periods, it is getting costlier and more popular. The mid-size SUV comes in two broad trims: MX and AX (AdrenoX with AX3, AX5, and AX7 variants. You can choose from a 5 and 7 seater configuration. Also, the car comes in both Petrol and Diesel engine options. The Mahindra XUV700 is priced at Rs 12.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base model. On the other hand, the top-end variant comes at Rs 23.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Let’s take a look at the differences between the two.

As you can see in the YouTube video posted by sansCARi sumit, the base model looks almost similar to the top-end model. However, there are many small differences that improve the daily experience. For example, the top-end variant feature LED instead of halogen. It also gets DRLs that convert into an indicator. Additionally, you get fog lamps, a silver skid plate, parking cameras, and more. The base-end model gets smaller 17-inch wheels. Whereas the top-end model gets 18-inch alloy wheels.

The Mahindra XUV700 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol unit that offers a maximum power of 200 PS and a peak torque of 380 Nm. The Diesel engine outputs 155 PS/ 360 Nm in the lower version and 185 PS/ 420 Nm (450 Nm in automatic variant) in the top model. Both the petrol and diesel engine variants come with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission choices. An optional AWD is available as well with the AX7 AT.

On the inside, the top-end variant features a more premium finish with better materials. You also get climate control, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driverโ€™s display, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, Smart Door Handles, a 3D Sound System with 12 speakers, and a 360-degree camera. Safety features on the SUV include up to seven airbags, an electronic parking brake, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (emergency autonomous braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control). The base model only gets two airbags.
