The next-generation Mahindra Scorpio is coming soon to the Indian market. Now, it has been spotted on the road during a test run.
The Mahindra Scorpio is one of the most popular SUVs in India. It is known for its ruggedness, space, and presence. An all-new Mahindra Scorpio has been under development for a while. It is expected to feature a completely new exterior design and overhauled interiors. Many spy shots and videos of the next-gen model have emerged online. And now, yet another sighting has emerged. While the test mules are covered with heavy camouflage, gives a good look at the exterior of the 2022 Scorpio.

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio has bigger dimensions than the current generation. The taillamp design also looks completely different. Also, the tailgate has a door handle for sideways opening. The next-gen model is likely to come with roof rails and newly-designed dual-tone alloy wheels. It will underpin a new ladder-on-frame chassis. It is expected to be powered by a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine that offers 130hp/ a 2.0-liter mStallion petrol engine that offers 140hp. For the transmission option, the SUV will include a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed automatic unit.

Additionally, the base variant is likely to come with an 8.0-inch infotainment system, a 4-speaker audio system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, adjustable, flat-bottom steering wheel, dual airbags, ABS with EBD and Isofix. Even the second row occupants will get adjustable headrests. The higher trims will get a larger infotainment system, digital analogue instrument cluster, Head-Up display (HUD), dual-tone leather seats, vehicle telematics, multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, reverse camera, cruise control, AWD (all-wheel drive) system, and more.

The new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio is expected to be launched by mid-2022. The current version comes in five trims: S3+, S5, S7, S9, and S11. It is priced from Rs 13.18 lakh to Rs 18.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The nine-seater car is powered by a 2.2-liter diesel engine that offers 120PS/ 280Nm or 140PS/ 319Nm. While the base variant gets a 5-speed MT, other variants are paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The popular car comes with features like cruise control, auto AC, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and AUX connectivity, and auto headlights with LED DRLs. Safety features include dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS, and speed alert.
