There can’t possibly be a more idiotic manoeuvre to perform on a public road than racing the bikes. But just like all stupid acts, there are unpleasant consequences.
In a shocking video, a biker was involved in a horrific crash while racing on the road. Our Indian roads are already infamous for being dangerous partially due to the lack of regard for the traffic regulations and partly due to a lack of information about them. This latest incident is a consequence of the former where a group of bikers are seen madly racing each other on a busy twisting road on a highway.

Biker Involved In A Crash While Road Racing
The video has been uploaded on YouTube. We would like to offer a little warning to all those who are a bit squeamish because the visuals are a bit horrifying. It captures a group of bikers performing full-blown racing on a public road. In the beginning, a biker is seen flexing his left leg while driving at high speed on a twisting road. That, in itself, is quite dangerous but moments later another fellow biker overtakes him/her at an even higher speed. The visuals have been developed from Go-Pro footage that has been recorded by one of the riders.

Moments following the crazy overtake, the rider refuses to come back to his lane and rides on the wrong side of the lane on a blind curve. And sure enough, there is a Maruti Alto coming from the other side. Before anyone could even react, the biker hits the front left side of the car and is sent flying in the air. He lands a few metres away from his bike on the side of the road. His bike sustains heavy damage and somersaults in the middle of the road. It is a hard incident to watch from such close quarters.

We are not sure about the exact injuries sustained by either the rider or the car driver but there is significant damage to the car as well. What is the most frustrating is the fact that there was no fault of the car driver at all. It becomes important to raise awareness about such idiots who drive on the roads like they are all alone. They end up hurting the people who are following the rules. So, make sure to discourage such behaviour if anyone you know is doing such things. Let us pledge to make our roads safer.
