It is impressive to witness what a motivated team of trainees is capable of producing.

You would be amazed to discover that the Skoda Slavia mid-size sedan that you see in India was once a sassy roadster. Yes, you heard that right. At the seventh ล koda Student Concept Car program, a team of enthusiastic 31 members developed the Slavia as their project car. The name Slavia has been inspired by the first bicycles created by Vรกclav Laurin and Vรกclav Klement after they founded the company in 1895. Hence, the name presented the celebrated legacy of the Czech carmaker.

Skoda Slavia Sedan Was A Roadster

For this project, the students chose the Spider variant of the Skoda Scala as the base model to develop their dream car. It was an elegant and sporty two-door, two-seat Roadster. The design elements were borrowed from this variant which featured sharp and distinct creases on the sides, sleek headlamps, a massive front grille finished in chrome, a chunky hood at the rear to complete the roadster layout. There were beautiful dual-tone alloy wheels, attractive split-LED taillamps and a functional rear diffuser to aid the overall aerodynamics of the sporty Roadster.

The team of students managed to incorporate the best elements of this variant to the Slavia and add their own ideas to come up with a product that is near production-ready. This concept was turned into what we see as the Slavia today. The electronics, powertrains, front and rear axle, steering, etc were directly used up from the donor model.
