The famous golfer has now moved court to sort out the matter.

This is a weird incident that has come to light in which the golfer still keeps receiving notices for challans for the car he sold 8 years ago.

In a bizarre turn of events, the Indian golfer Jeev Milkha is involved in a case where he has 63 pending challans on a car that he sold in 2014! Jeev Milkha, for the uninitiated, is the son of the legendary sprinter Milkha Singh. He is a reputed golfer and has been in the sport for a long time. However, he is involved in a bit of a mix-up with the man he sold his Mercedes to. Let us check out the details here.

Jeev Milkha and Pending Challans

Jeev sold his Mercedes car to a guy named Nitin Jain in 2014. Nitin is the Director at Vibes Healthcare Limited in Hauz Khas. The car dealer involved in this purchase was Tejinder Singh of Rally Motors. While we don’t know the specifics of the car, the price that was agreed upon was Rs 35 lakh. However, it was a diesel car which is over 10 years old now and can’t be registered in Delhi. That is an issue that a lot of diesel car owners are struggling against. In order to control vehicular pollution, diesel cars older than 10 years won’t be registered in Delhi and this policy might be adopted by other major cities soon too.

As far as this case is concerned, Jeev is receiving the challans for the vehicle which are 63 in total. The amount to be paid for these challans is a whopping Rs 83,000. The issue is that the registration of the vehicle in the name of the new owner has not happened yet. There are no apparent reasons for that. Jeev’s counsel claims that all the documents are in place but somehow, the transfer of ownership is still pending which is why Jeev is getting the challans.

Mercedes Benz not transferred in new owner’s name

The matter has been intervened by the court and that is why it has gotten out of hand. Now, Jeev is alleging that the purchaser is intentionally not transferring the ownership of the vehicle in his name. He has even approached the Senior Superintendent of Polie (SSP, Chandigarh) asking to register a case against the dealer and the buyer. The hearing for this case is due on October 17. We shall see what the outcome is. What are your thoughts on the matter?
