It won’t be wrong to say that our country has some of the most innovative minds, leading to unique and rare products like this WagonR-based helicopter.

In this unique innovation, a Maruti WagonR-Based helicopter has been developed by a man from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. We have previously reported one such creation from Bihar and this man confirms that he has been inspired by him. Anil Patel is the man behind this unique creation and this video captures his interview explaining the details of this helicopter/car.

The video has been posted by Dehati Creator on YouTube. He takes the viewers through a walkaround tour of this uniquely customised Maruti WagonR. As seen from the visuals, there are massive rotor blades atop the hatchback that are functional. Also, there is a compact fan at the rear which works too. Anil shows that the controls are positioned on the right side of the steering wheel. There are switches and a regulator to control the speed of the rotor on the roof.

Problem with the Helicopter

The issue with this system is the fact that it can’t actually fly. This is designed to mimic the setup of a helicopter. Needless to say, it was never aimed at making the car fly. The aesthetics are the main attraction of this creation. It creates a frenzy among the locals when it is taken out on the road. The drives during the night are especially prominent because of the entire lighting setup in this car. At the front, the entire design has been changed as the bumper is morphed into a streamlined shape. The entire cost for this project is Rs 3 lakh (Rs 2 lakh for the modifications and Rs 1 lakh for the used car).

Anil mentions that he aims to make money from this creation by renting it out for weddings. In fact, the bonnet of this helicopter car says ‘Shubh Vivah’ highlighting that it was designed keeping Indian marriages in mind. The red and blue stripes on the sides make the exterior look attractive. Furthermore, he invested around 3 months to make this and has already received 10-15 bookings for weddings. He charges somewhere between Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 per booking to rent it out. What do you think about this unique product?
