Kia Sonet is one of the most popular cars in the Indian market. It comes in six broad trims – HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and GTX+. Now, the company has launched a new variant in the Indian market. The new Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition is based on the HTX trim. It has been introduced with a starting price of Rs 11.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition comes with several cosmetic design upgrades. Let’s take a closer look.

The special edition car comes with two powertrain options – 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engines. For transmission, the company is offering iMT & DCT gearbox options in the petrol version. On the other hand, the diesel version can be paired with iMT & torque convertor automatic gearbox options. You can choose from a total of 4 variants. The Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition sits below the X-Line. The price ranges from Rs 11.85 Lakh to Rs 13.45 Lakh.

Design, Styling & Features
In terms of aesthetics, the special edition comes with a sporty appeal. It gets a new front skid plate, Tangerine accents on the Tiger Nose grille, and Tangerine center wheel caps. The company is also offering the Aurochs Edition Emblem and Aurochs side/ rear skid plates. It comes with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, projector fog lamps, LED headlamps, and LED tail lights. You can choose from Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Sparkling Silver, and Glacier White Pearl color options.
On the inside, the Kia Sonet Aurochs Edition features a Black and Beige two-tone interior scheme. It comes with an electric sunroof, automatic AC, a height-adjustable driver seat, a push-button start, cruise control, and a flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted controls. Additional features four airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, electronic stability control, hill-start assist control, vehicle stability management, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay.

The 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol offers 118bhp of power and 172Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 6-speed iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission) or a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission). On the other hand, the 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo diesel outputs a maximum power output of 114bhp and 250Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed iMT unit and a six-speed torque converter automatic unit options. You also get drive and traction modes. The new special edition of the Sonet comes merely weeks after the introduction of the Maruti Fronx. But other than rivalling the Baleno-based crossover, the new model will even lock horns with the Hyundai Verna, Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
