One of the most anticipated models of this year has been the Ford EcoSport compact SUV. Now, Ford’s authorized distributor in Nepal, GO Automobiles has revealed that they are planning to bring in the Ford EcoSport to the Nepali market by the end of March 2013. According to the dealer, the Ford EcoSport will be available only in the petrol variant. Akash Golchha, director of GO Automobiles while revealing the plans stated that, “The compact size of the EcoSport will fit well in the Nepali roads and we are hopeful that the new car will be loved by Nepali customers. We are expecting the car to enter the Nepali market by the end of March next year.”
Mr. Golchha also added that the EcoSport will also be loved by the Nepalese customers who want to stand out from others. “Sleek LED headlights, pillar-less rear windscreen and stylishly cut tail lights make this sporty SUV perfect for those consumers who want to stand out from others.” the Ford EcoSport comes equipped with a 1.0 litre, 3 cylinder, EcoBoost engine that churns out 120 PS of peak power and 170 NM of torque.
This engine is mated to a 6 speed Powershift automatic transmission which is fitted with a dual clutch. The dual clutch helps in ease of shifting. One of the advantages of the EcoBoost engine is that it returns very high fuel economy. Mr. Golchha added that, “With the new 1-liter engine, the car is expected to provide mileage of 20 km per litre.”
Other attractive features include burglar alarm system, front passenger and side curtain airbags and inertial back seat belts, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), traction control, Hill Launch Assist (HLA) and many other advanced techniques. According to Mr. Golchha, the Ford EcoSport is expected to come at about 4 million Nepalese rupees.
