Toyota Innova Facelift

The Toyota Innova has been selling in India for more than 7 years now, and the company wants to keep the car competitive for some more years. The Innova received a mild facelift in 2012, and Toyota is set to give it another facelift soon. We can see what the new facelift MUV will look like because Toyota has launched the same in Indonesia, where the car is sold as the Toyota Kijang Innova.

So what’s new? Well, the Toyota Inniva facelift gets a host of additions in terms of features and the design has been mildly tweaked inside out. But Toyota has not made changes to the car in terms of engine, transmission or any other machanicals. The new Innova is expected to cost about Rs. 25,000 more per variant when it is launched in India early 2014.

The Toyota Innova facelift has been spotted in India, apart from that the prices of the new MPV have also been leaked. The spy shots of the Toyota Innova facelift were taken by Mr. Samuel Joe and the photos were first shown at Fly Wheel, check them out below:

You can check out the leaked price list of the Toyota Innova facelift over at MotorBeam, the most interesting bit is the price of the new top end 7-seater ‘Z’ variant, which will be only offered with the 2.5-litre diesel mill. The Toyota Innova 2.5 Z (diesel) is apparently going to be priced at Rs. 15.07 Lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. It would need some serious kit to justify that price tag though.

Toyota Innova Facelift

First let’s take at the exterior design. The basic silhouette of the car has not been changed, At the front, the Toyota Innova facelift gets a huge chrome grille and a redesigned bumper, with new fog lamp surrounds and a faux-skid plate. There are lines running from the base of the grille onto the hood, to give the car a bit of character. The headlights have been carried over from the last facelift, and seem a bit too small beside the huge grille.

Move to the side and you will notice that nothing has been changed. There are some swooping lines above the wheel-arches and a crease running along the bottom of the doors. The Innova facelift also gets side-skirts, that’s about it.

Move to the rear and again you’d notice that the tail-lamps have not been modified. What has been changed is the bumper with what Toyota calls a ‘bumper spoiler’, rear-door garnish which is pretty fussy and a spoiler with integrated stop-lamp.

On the inside, the Toyota Innova facelift receives small updates but there are no major additions.

Featurewise, the base model will get new wheel caps and dual front airbags. Theย G variant which is the next in line will get an updated bumper, the front grille, fog lamps, body coloured mirrors, an all new upholstery and an upgraded audio system as well.ย ย The top end variant, which is the VX in India will get all the above mentioned features and in addition will get cosmetic changes on the rear and an upgraded interior. A chrome pack will also be offered by Toyota to give it that dash of luxury.

The facelifted version of the car is expected to arrive in India in early 2014. What do you think of the Toyota Innova facelift? Let us know in the comments below.
