Netizens are quite concerned about such fire mishaps with EVs. We know that due to the chemical composition of EV batteries, fires don’t douse so easily. There is a phenomenon called Thermal Runaway which means that the components of the battery act as raw materials for the fire to continue. Simply pouring water on such fires is not enough. In fact, these fires can go on for days until the raw material is finished. Hence, we must attempt to keep ourselves safe and not try to put out the fire in futility. Moreover, we must use EVs as per the users’ manuals.
