6Yamaha MT-15 has been finally launched in India, for Rs 1.36 Lakhs. It gets R15 V3’s engine and goes against KTM Duke 125 and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
The much anticipated Yamaha MT-15 naked streetfighter has made its entry in the Indian market. It is the first motorcycle from the company’s ‘Call of the Blue’ campaign.
The bookings of the bike officially began a week ago for amounts ranging between Rs 1000 to Rs 5000. The deliveries will commence by the end of this month. Dealerships have started receiving the test ride and display units already.
For the price of Rs 1.36 Lakhs, it is cheaper than the Yamaha R15 V3. The fully faired sportsbike goes for Rs 1.41 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).

Powering the Yamaha MT-15 is the 155cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected DOHC engine. The motor is capable of producing 19.1 BHP at 10000 RPM and 14.8 Nm of peak torque at 8500 RPM. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with wet multi-plate clutch.
The claimed mileage of the MT-15 is 45 KMPL, which will deliver an estimated riding range of nearly 450 kms on full tank. The VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) system helps in maintaining the fuel economy even during aggressive riding.
The claimed top speed of the bike is 131 km/hr. The figure is highest in its segment and better than a couple of 200cc bikes as well.

Yamaha MT-15 is 1965mm long, 800mm wide and 1065mm tall. The ground clearance stands at 155mm and the wheelbase is 1335mm. The seat height is considerably taller at 810mm. It tips the scales at 133 kgs.
For suspension purposes, it uses telescopic forks at the front and aluminium swingarm with rear monoshock suspension. Braking duties are done by front and rear disc brakes with Bosch dual-ABS.
