Honda is all set to launch the new HR-V in the Indian Market by the year 2020. The Honda HR-V will sit in between the WR-V and the CR-V in the lineup. The R-V series from Honda has only received a lukewarm response in the Indian market but Honda hopes that it will change with the new HR-V.

When launched, the HR-V will rival against the likes of the Nissan Kicks, the Hyundai Creta and the Jeep Compass. The Honda HR-V is already on sale in many international markets where it is known as the Vezel.

Here we take a closer look at how the HR-V fares against the Hyundai Creta, the most popular SUV in this segment.

The HR-V will be powered by a 1.5L, petrol engine which produces 128 Bhp and 155 Nm of peak torque. When compared to the Hyundai Creta’s petrol engine, the latter is also powered by a 1.5L, petrol engine producing 121 Bhp and 150 Nm of torque. The Honda HR-V has just a tad bit better numbers than the Hyundai Creta.

In terms of dimensions, the HR-V is slightly longer than the Creta and thus has a longer wheelbase too. However, the Creta sits higher and is wider than the HR-V.

Honda HR-V vs Hyundai Creta – Design

In terms of design, both cars look quite attractive. The Creta has been on Indian roads for quite some time now and its design has been much appreciated. While it may be generic, it has been executed quite aesthetically. HR-V, on the other hand, is quite bold with sharp lines and an angular fascia as we have seen in most Honda cars these days.
