Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro

Ducati has launched top of the line, Multistrada 1260 Enduro in India, for Rs 19.9 Lakhs. The off-roader gets a revised engine and improved mechanics.

Ducati has launched its flagship adventure motorcycle, Multistrada 1260 Enduro in India. Enduro is the top-of-the-line off-roading machine, priced at Rs 19.9 Lakhs for the Ducati Red colour and Rs 20.23 Lakhs for the Sand colour (prices ex-showroom).

It looks similar to the 1260 Multistrada, but get some more off-road features and a new engine. The dimensions have also been changed, as well as the ergonomics. Of course, it demands around 2 Lakhs more than the 1200 Enduro.

The Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro gets a new 1262cc L-Twin liquid-cooled Ducati Testastretta engine with DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) system. The engine produces 157.5 BHP at 95000 RPM and 128 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a Ducati Quick Shifter.

This engine specifically offers most of the torque from as low at 3500 RPM, aiding the pulling power. The DVT system offers equal torque throughout the range. The fuel tank capacity stands at 30 Litres.

Suspension is handled by 48mm fully adjustable Sachs USD fork with rebound damping at the front and a fully adjustable monoshock with reboud daming and preload adjustment at the back.

At the front, you get 19-inch wheels and 17-inch wheels at the back, with wire spoke wheels. Braking is handled by 320mm dual semi-floating discs at the front and a two-pistion Brembo caliper 265mm disc at the back, with cornering ABS. The suspension travel at the front stands at 185mm on both the ends.

The chassis has been redesigned for the Multistrada 1260 Enduro, thus offering a lower seat height of 860 mm. The overall dimensions remain the same, but the handlebar has been lowered along. The total weight of the bike stands at 225 kgs.

It comes with four riding modes – Sport, Touring, Enduro and Urban. It also offers three power modes, as chosen. Further electronic aids include Vehicle Hold Control, Ducati Cornering Light, Cornering ABS, Wheelie Control and Eight-Level Traction Control. You also get the Ducati Multimedia System, connected through Bluetooth on the Smartphone.

The Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro competes with the likes of BMW R 1250 GS Adventure and Triumph Tiger 1200, which are priced similarly.
