The car gets revised styling at the exteriors and will also carry refreshed styling in the cabin.
The all-new 2020 Skoda Rapid was spied for the first time globally. The sedan which is an entry-level car from Czech manufacturers is expected to be launched in Indian markets later next year. However, it will be different from the one spied here.
The 2020 Skoda Rapid is inspired by its elder sibling, Octavia, which is also set to make its global debut this year. The slim headlight design fits well with the bulging grille upfront. Skoda emblem sits above the front grille and the headlights and DRLs get LED treatment. One can also notice a new bumper design.
Moving onto the side, the alloy wheels are similar to the current generation. It is said that the top trims of upcoming Rapid will see 16-inch machine-cut alloy wheel design with lowe profile tyres to give the sedan a sporty look. Also, the cabin space is expected to increase by noticing the size of the rear window which is larger now.

The interiors are also expected to see a refreshed styling with an all-new dashboard design along with a new touchscreen infotainment system. Some more convenience features may be added and a new upholstery design will be seen with the upcoming sedan.
Mechanically, the engine options will be of Skoda’s new generation which will be powerful and refined. They will also offer a better fuel economy and will come in both petrol and diesel engines.
Taling about the size of the sedan, it will not only be larger but wider too thus increasing the cabin space. The exact dimensions will be known once the car makes it debut. An electric sunroof will be offered too.
Currently, Skoda Rapid competes with the likes of Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, Toyota Yaris and Hyundai Verna in the Indian markets. The price of the same starts at Rs 6.99 lakh for the base trim and the top model fetches you around Rs 14.26 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.

In other news, the company recently launched the Rider edition of the Rapid and it has received well by the Indian market. It is the least priced trim of the sedan which offers good space and features.
The rider edition of the Skoda Rapid blacked-out design elements in the base Active variant to make it look more sporty. It gets an all-black grille, blacked-out B-pillars, trunk lip and black door decals. It comes in Candy White and Carbon Steel exterior paint options but continues with the same 15-inch wheels as in the Active variant.
Safety features like rear parking sensors, anti-glare interior rearview mirror, dual airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), rear windscreen defogger with timer, height-adjustable front three-point seatbelts, rough road package and an engine immobilizer with a floating code system can be seen on this limited edition.
