Toyota Glanza To Get More Affordable – New Variant Coming Soon

The base model which offers SHVS technology is in popular demand

The price of the current ‘G’ trim which comes in manual transmission with SHVS technology will be increased.

Toyota Glanza, a rebadging of Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been well received in the Indian market and the hatchback sold a total of 2,322 units in Aug’19. The most popular variant of the Toyota Glanza is the ‘G’ which comes with a manual transmission and offers a mild hybrid system.

Now new reports suggest that a new variant of Toyota Glanza is expected to launch before the festive season. This new variant will not carry an SHVS system and will be devioded of most of the features.

The reason for the introduction of a new variant by Toyota is because they will increase the prices of the ‘G’ trim which comes with SHVS technology. When the Glanza was launched, this trim was offered with an introductory price and now the manufacturers will increase the price.

The new variant of Glanza will come with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit which churns out 83 bhp and a peak torque of 114 Nm. It will most likely carry the same 5-speed manual transmission.

Toyota Glanza carries almost every feature which is identical to the Baleno. The 16-inch alloy wheels, projector headlight setup, LED Taillights are some of the similar things on the exteriors.

The interior sees the same 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It gets climate control, multi-function steering wheel with Toyota badging.

Safety Features are limited to Dual Front Airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, ISOFIX mount child seats, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder and high-speed alert system.

One thing where the Toyota Glanza differentiates itself from the Maruti Baleno is the warranty period. Of course, the badging on the front and rear profile and on the steering wheel are one.

The car is offered with a regular 3 year or 1,00,000 km warranty and one can also choose an extended 5 year/2,20,000 km warranty. The Glanza is offered in five colour options – Cafe White, Sportin Red, Insta Blue, Gaming Grey and Enticing Silver.
