In this latest post, an Arab car expert comments about buying a used Ford Mustang than a Suzuki Dzire. Needless to mention, both these cars have completely different applications. On the one hand, the Dzire is among the most budget-friendly cars with low maintenance costs and high mileage. People buy it to get peace of mind in terms of practicality and ownership costs. On the contrary, Ford Mustang is one of the most iconic muscle cars ever made. People buy for sheer driving pleasure. Hence, these two can’t be compared directly. But the prices of a 7-year-old Mustang and a brand-new Dzire might be somewhat comparable.

At times, he gets specific about the vehicles in the Middle East, particularly in the UAE. In this post, he poses the question of whether one should buy a 2016 Ford Mustang for around 50,000 Dirhams or a new Suzuki Dzire for almost the same amount. While these numbers might not be accurate, he wishes to discuss this scenario that might play out in real life since there are myriad luxury cars in the UAE.

He says that he would definitely go for the Mustang. The reasons are quite straightforward. He is a young guy who would love to have a driving enthusiast car that goes fast and has some flamboyance. Also, he thinks that there is no issue with owning a used car. To further illustrate his point, he says that relatively older guys who are looking for a budget car with low maintenance costs would end up buying something like the Dzire, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sunny or Camry, etc. Hence, his choice in this matter is clear.

He might be right in saying that the Mustang is definitely more fun to drive, but he is clearly ignoring the elephant in the room when it comes to buying used luxury cars – their ownership costs.
