Ather Scooters New Price After GST Rate Reduction Starts at Rs 1.02 Lakh, On-road

The new prices of the Ather scooters have reduced by Rs 9,000 and will surely attract buyers who are looking for an electric two-wheeler.

With the trend of growing EVS, the government is reluctant on making the environment clean and pushing the buyers to focus on electric vehicles. One such manufacturer that got benefitted is Ather and now their scooters get a new price tag.

The introduction of the FAME II scheme has benefitted the Ather 340 and 450 to get a new price which is appealing to a larger audience now. The reduction in GST (goods and services tax) from 12% to 5% provides a benefit of upto Rs 26,732.

Ather scooters are currently available in Bangalore and Chennai alone. The company says that they plan to begin operations in other major cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Pune and 30 other cities by 2023.

The new Ather 340 price starts at Rs 1,02,460 while the 450 starts at Rs 1,13,715. The prices of both the scooters are in reference to on-road Bangalore. In Chennai, the scooters are pricier and 450 costs around Rs 1,22,224 and the 340 sticks to Rs 1,10,443. Under the FAME II subsidy, the scooters receive upto Rs 26,732 of relaxation.

Talking about the engine specifications Ather 450 gets powered by a 5.4kW motor which generates 7.4 bhp with 20.4Nm of peak torque. It offers a riding range of 75 km and a top speed of 80km/h.

The 340 in comparison gets powered by a smaller 4.4kW electric motor and offers a driving range limited to 60 km and a top speed of 75 km/h. Both the scooters get a 2.71kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Charging of 80% can be achieved in a span of 50 minutes via a public charger while it takes 2 hours and 40 minutes for the same with a standard charger.

Features onboard include, Over the Air Updates (OTA), Reverse Gear, LED headlamps, Google Maps navigation, Sim card tray, 7-inch touchscreen tablet with an IP65 rating (Waterproof). It shows information such as distance to empty, remaining battery, etc.
