We know how Bajaj and TVS dominate the global 2-wheeler market and export millions of products to other countries.

The Bajaj Boxer 150 bikes are converted into practical 3-wheeler products in some countries. Bajaj and TVS are the biggest names in the country when it comes to exports. Their motorcycles contribute a lot to nations where they have a majority of the market in comparison to bikes from other countries. However, there are a few countries where regular bikes are not used as bikes but converted to other, more practical forms of transportation. In this video, we shall take a look at how the Bajaj Boxer 150 is used in Cambodia.

As per the information in the video, around 70% of the market has been captured by Bajaj and TVS in Cambodia. The Chinese bike companies are struggling to compete with the Indian manufacturers due to the high-quality products from the latter. We have come to associate Bajaj with reliability and affordability in India and it is the same in other parts of the world too. That is why the South-East Asian and African countries appreciate Bajaj.

There is a popular trend (jugaad) in Cambodia where they take regular motorcycles and convert them into 3-wheelers. This is done by installing a locally manufactured cargo bed at the rear end of the bike. It is designed in the shape of a layout in which a lot of people can sit. It must be noted that Bajaj and TVS also supply proper 3-wheelers to Cambodia but these are priced higher than these converted 3-wheelers. Also, the maintenance cost and mileage are better compared to stock 3-wheelers.

The bikes are reliable and rugged and the rear compartment is made locally which is also affordable and rugged. Hence, the setup is a great solution to solve the issue of mass transport. However, such modifications are illegal in the country and these converted autos are being phased out slowly. The sales of the 3-wheelers from Bajaj and TVS could go up as people will have to buy these. What are your thoughts on these unique products?
