Bajaj Pulsar CS 200 Price Could be INR 1.25 Lacs; Launch This Year

From the looks of it, Bajaj Auto Ltd., one the most popular two wheeler manufacturer in India, could launch yet another model in the Pulsar line-up. Based on the latest generation 200cc Pulsar, the upcoming motorcycle is speculated to be based on the CS 400 concept that was showcased at last year’s Auto Expo. What this means is that in all likelihood, the next 200cc Pulsar model could be sold as the CS 200 and our guess is that the Bajaj Pulsar CS 200 price would be a tad higher than that of the new RS 200. The revelation on the next Pulsar model comes from Mr. Eric Vas, President of Bajaj Auto’s motorcycle business. Bajaj Pulsar CS 200 Launch Date

It is now pretty clear that the much awaited Pulsar CS400 will be launched in Q3 this year. Instead of launching he SS400 this year, the boffins at Bajaj Auto Ltd. could come up with a 200cc model in the CS series and launch the Pulsar CS200. Our guess is that the new motorcycle could be launched towards the end of this year.

Powering the Pulsar CS 200 will be the same 200cc, single-cylinder, Triple Spark Plug (DTSi) equipped motor that powers the AS200. The CS 200 could have a top speed of more than 120 KMPH. The CS 200 won’t be as fast as the RS200 but safely expect it to become the fastest naked Pulsar in sub-220cc category. Sourcing its motor from the highly capable KTM 200 Duke, the CS 200 will not only offer similar levels of performance, but will also boast of a world-class design. We believe that the Bajaj Pulsar CS 200 launch date will be among the most important dates ever for Bajaj Auto Ltd.

Bajaj Pulsar CS 200 Price in India

Like we said, the Bajaj Pulsar CS 200 price could be slightly higher than that of the RS 200. Our estimate is that the Bajaj Pulsar CS 200 price would be around INR 1.25 lacs (ex-showroom).

Bajaj Pulsar CS 200 Specifications

Quite obviously, the Pulsar CS 200 will share its motor with the Pulsar RS 200 and the AS 200, which are the other two models in the new generation Pulsar 200cc line-up. This means that powering the upcoming motorcycle will be the same 199.5 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor. Much like the RS 200, CS 200’s engine would employ a fuel-injection system. For the RS 200, this 4-valve triple-spark engine pumps out a maximum power of 24.4 PS@ 9,500 rpm and a peak torque of 18.6 Nm @8,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a smooth shifting 6-speed manual transmission.

Our belief is that the Bajaj Pulsar CS 200 would open gates to an all new segment of the Indian entry-level performance bike segment. Bajaj is also working on an updated Avenger cruiser bike, which, along with the CS 200, is likely to spearhead BAL’s charge in the cruiser and streetnaked segments.
