So the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 (aka SS200) has been launched and the launch of the 200 AS (Adventure Sport) too has just taken place. Also, launch alongside the new AS 200 is the new Bajaj Pulsar AS 150. The Bajaj Pulsar AS 150 looks all set to bridge the narrow gap that exists between the upcoming new gen 150cc and 180cc Pulsar streetnaked models. Quite obviously, the Bajaj Pulsar AS 150 would also play the perfect smaller sibling of the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS and should offer touring-friendly ergonomics. As we said earlier, the AS 150 would bridge the narrow gap that exists between the comparable 150cc and 180cc Pulsar models. The price of the new Bajaj Pulsar AS 150 is INR 79000.

Specs

The Pulsar AS 150 would share its motor with the upcoming Pulsar 150 NS. This means that the bike you see in the above pic will sport a 149.5cc, 4-valve single cylinder engine that produces a peak power of 17PS. To put things in perspective, the hugely capable Yamaha YZF R15 benefits from similar power figures. The peak torque for this model could be in the tune of 13.5 Nm. The engine will be a single-cylinder air cooled unit that will be fed by a carb. The 150 AS will benefit form bits like a perimeter frame and a rear monoshock suspension.

The 150 AS is based on the 150 NS, which in turn is based on the Pulsar 200NS. True, the 150 AS would look more like a 200 AS than any other Pulsar model, but skinnier tires, plastic rear mudguard and a rear drum brake would be the biggest points of difference. However, the 150 AS will sport a projector headlamp and a quarter front-fairing that will be exactly like the one on the 200 AS.
