While the Bajaj Pulsar N250 and F250 are only a few months old, Bajaj Auto seems to be busy with the development of N400 and F400

The Bajaj Pulsar is one of the most iconic motorcycle brands since over two decades now. First available only in 150 and 180 variants, the Pulsar range today comprises of models with engine sizes ranging from 125cc to 250cc. The latest addition to this motorcycle range is the Pulsar N250 and F250. The duo went on sale last year and became the most powerful motorcycles to wear the Pulsar logo. However, it looks like a new spy video that was sent to us earlier today has revealed Bajaj’s biggest secret yet.

It has long been rumoured that the company is busy preparing 373cc offerings that would share the engine with the Dominar, which, in turn, comes with a version of the single-cylinder motor you get on the Duke 390. But now, it’s for the first time that test mules of the speculated Bajaj Pulsar have been seen undergoing road tests. From the looks of it, these motorcycles will look much like the N250 and F250 but would carry a bigger engine and, possibly, wider tires. Also, they would be positioned close to the Dominar 400, which will continue to be the most expensive product in Bajaj Auto’s lineup.

The Bajaj Pulsar N400 and F400 will be related to the KTM 390 Duke like the N250 and F250 are related to the 250 Duke. The Pulsar 400 range has been rumoured to be in the works for many years now. With the kind of brand recall that the Pulsar range enjoys across many segments of the market, it’s only obvious that the motorcycle manufacturer should finally release the 400cc model. While it might bring in the kind of volumes that sub-250cc models have managed, it will still make for an excellent halo product in the company’s portfolio.

Going by the updated Dominar 400, it should be safe to Assume that the Bajaj Pulsar N400 and F400 would do good with the 373 cc fuel injected single-cylinder engine that comes from the KTM 390 Duke and outputs 43 PS and 35 Nm for the Dominar 400. The motor will come mated to a 6-speed transmission while a dual-channel ABS would be standard. The upcoming motorcycle cost upwards of Rs 1.70 lakh, ex-showroom. KTM RC 390, Ninja 300, Benelli TNT300, Yamaha R3 and TVS Apache RR310 are some of the key players in the segment.
