Chevrolet is all set to enter the lucrative MPV segment in India and the company has already put up the website of its offering, Chevrolet Enjoy. Chevrolet Enjoy will be the company’s second offering in the MPV segment after the Chevrolet Tavera. Chevrolet Tavera has been known for the robust people carrier it is and the Chevrolet Enjoy will be a more premium offering that will be aimed at the urban buyers instead of cab operators.
Chevrolet Enjoy features are officially revealed and it will come with 2 engine options. A petrol motor and a diesel one. The Enjoy will have the 1.3 litre Fiat Multijet diesel motor that is expected to bring the bulk of volumes for the company. The engine develops a maximum power of 76 BHP which comes in at 4,000 RPM whereas the peak torque of 188 NM is achieved at a very low 1,750 RPM which will ensure the car will be quite swift of its feet and will pull away without breaking a sweat.
There will be a 1.4 litre petrol motor on offer as well which will form the entry level variants of the car. The petrol motor will have a maximum power output of 103 BHP which will come in at 4,000 RPM and a peak torque of 130 NM will kick in at 4,400 NM. The engines will come mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and will ride on 14 inchers. Bringing the car to a halt will be 104 mm ventilated disc brakes up front while the rear breaking will be taken care of by drum brakes.
The car will come with beige interiors for lending the car an airy look and the car will be offered in 7 and 8 seater options. The middle row is where the option of captain seats will be available and the car promises a spacious third row. It will come with a plethora of features as standard and the top end models will get loaded with all the bells and whistles. Pricing will be the key and seeing how desperate Chevrolet is to get a strong footing in the Indian market, we think the petrol variant will be priced around Rs.6.5 lakhs and the diesel variant will be priced around a lakh more.
