Suzuki Motorcycle India has released a new teaser that says ‘Ride The Legend’. Speculations say that it might be the Katana for India. Well, is it?
Suzuki Motorcycle India recently confirmed that they would focus on bringing premium motorcycles, above 150cc. They had the Hayate for the commuter class, which did not turn out to be well over the years.
This year, it bought the new Gixxer SF 250 and Gixxer 250, with refreshed Gixxer SF 155 and Gixxer 155. The manufacturer had also hinted that it would further introduce more premium motorcycles in India.
Now, Suzuki has revealed a teaser of Twitter which says – ‘Some Dreams, Deserve To be Turned, Into Reality. Also, they use the ‘Ride The Legend’ hashtag below the teasers. Well, does it ring any bell?
Speculations suggested that the Katana might be launched in India, but Suzuki has cleared that it is just a promotion for the big bikes. Instead, Suzuki is going to bring new entry-level premium motorcycles with 250cc engines.
Back in the 80s and 90s, Suzuki Katana was an uber-cool semi-faired roadster, which looked completely out of the box. It was one of the most popular motorcycles in the world at that time.
Suzuki recently bought the Katana back into life with a 1000cc inline 4-cylinder engine and styling inspired by the original Katana. But it will only be available for the Japanese, American and European markets and not for India.
Katana comes with a semi-fairing, a single step-up seat and a high-set single-piece handlebar. It is basically capable of long tours as well as the city runs. It has not been launched worldwide as of now but is set to hit the markets in November.
But reports also suggest that it could be the Intruder 250 that is incoming, which was also speculated to be launched during the festive season. Recently, there was a report which also said that Suzuki is planning to bring the V-Strom with a 250cc engine.
