The dual-tone color option on the MG Hector will only be available on the top-spec Sharp variant with about Rs 20,000 premium over the standard Sharp variant. It will be available with Candy White and Glaze Red paint shades of the MG Hector.
The MG Hector has been a very strong seller for the brand ever since its introduction in the Indian market. MG Motors now want to further jazz things up for the Hector SUV and to that effect, they are soon going to launch dual-tone color options of the Hector. This option will however be available only on the fully-loaded Sharp trim. MG Motors are also already accepting order for dual-tone variants of the Hector.
The new dual-tone color option fetches the MG Hector a contrasting black finished roof, A pillars and wing mirrors. The dual-tone color option is only available with the Candy White and Glaze Red paint shades of the MG Hector. There are no other cosmetic changes on the SUV and the interiors along with the equipment list remains identical to the standard Sharp variant of the Hector.
As this dual-tone variant is based on the Sharp trim, the engine options have also been carried forward unchanged. That includes the 143hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 170hp 2.0-litre diesel engine. The turbo-petrol engine can be had in either standard or mild-hybrid spec. The non-hybrid turbo-petrol engine comes mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox while the mild-hybrid variant gets a 6-speed manual unit. The diesel engine is solely available with the 6-speed manual gearbox.
Among its rivals, the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier and the Nissan Kicks are offered with dual-tone color options. We expect the dual-tone variants to cost about Rs 20,000 more than the standard Sharp variant, depending on the powertrain you choose. To give you a perspective, the petrol mild-hybrid Hector Sharp is priced at Rs 16.64 while the non-hybrid petrol automatic is priced at Rs 17.56 lakh. The Hector Sharp diesel meanwhile retails for Rs 17.89 lakh.
MG Motors also recently launched a special anniversary edition of the Hector with some additional equipment, celebrating the completion of one year of the Hector in India. Going ahead, MG Motors is also expected to introduce the dual-tone color options on the Hector Plus SUV. As of now, MG Motors has the launch of the full-size seven-seater Gloster premium SUV coming up in the festive season.
