As you must be aware, Hyundai is all set to launch a new entry-level small car in India this year.
And we have the exact timeline for its launch!
It is confirmed that the launch of this new compact family hatchback is going to take place during the month of October.
But that’s not all:
We have exclusive information regarding the prices of this new entry-level hatchback from Hyundai!
Likely to be named as the ‘Hyundai Santro’, Hyundai’s all-new compact hatchback and the replacement for the Eon, is most likely to have a starting price of INR 2.99 Lakhs.
Yes, you heard it right!
Our dealer sources confirm that the new Hyundai Santro, so far codenamed as the AH2, will retail at an ex-showroom price of INR 2.99 lakh. With this, we can expect the top-of-the-line variant to retail somewhere around the mark of INR 5 Lakh.
If this turns out to be true, and there are good chances that it will, the new Hyundai Santro might offer a big challenge to the likes of Maruti Alto, Wagon R, Renault KWID, Tata Tiago and the Datsun Redi-Go.
Let’s dig a little deeper into what we know so far about the 2018 Hyundai Santro.
The South Korean automaker is going to preview this new compact hatchback to the media during the first week of October this year. Consequently, we expect the company to launch this car in India sometime around the latter half of the same month. Which will be strategically a good time for garnering good sales as it will be right in the middle of the auspicious festive season.
What this car is going to look like?
Going by the numerous spy shots of this vehicle available on the internet, the 2018 Hyundai Santro seems to share quite a few of its design elements with the current spec Grand i10. However, from what it appears to be, it comes with its own unique front fascia which features sweptback headlamps and rectangular fog-lamps placed right underneath the headlights.
In addition to this:
The Santro is going to come with Hyundai’s cascading grille, body coloured wing mirrors along with alloy wheels.
Talking about the car’s interiors:
So far there is little to no detail available on the car’s interiors. From what we can tell you by looking at the spy-shots is that the Santro could get a dual-tone colour scheme on the dashboard. Seats will have fabric upholstery and a decent seating capacity of 5 people.
What about its feature list?
In the top-spec variant, we expect the Hyundai Santro to come with a touchscreen infotainment system, steering mounted audio control, automatic climate control, alloy wheels, electrically operated wing mirrors, day-night IRVM among others.
On the safety front, in accordance with the new safety regulations, the hatchback will feature dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
