The Force Kargo King Grand pickup truck was recently seen plying on the Indian roads. Note that it is, essentially, the pickup truck version of the regular Gurkha. This is a common trend where an SUV is converted into a pickup truck and vice versa. In fact, many carmakers adopt this practice in various markets across the globe. Its rival in this category will be the Mahindra Bolero Maxx pik-up truck. It is based on the Bolero SUV. Let us take a look at the details of the Kargo King Grand.
Force Kargo King Grand Spotted
This video comes from Raftaar 7811 on YouTube. The visuals capture a red-coloured pickup truck with bare minimum camouflage. At the front, it bears the familiar fascia inspired by the Gurkha. There are round headlamps and a prominent radiator grille with a rugged bumper. It even gets round fog lamps on the extreme edges of the bumper. There are turn indicators on the corners of the bonnet too. What is interesting is the fact that it carries a functional snorkel. That is something we see on typical off-roaders. It is used to let fresh air in when the vehicle is in water and can’t get the fresh air from the front. On the sides, there are stylish alloy wheels and a huge cargo compartment.
Specs
While there are no official announcements yet, we reckon the Kargo King Grand will borrow the powertrain and transmission from the regular Gurkha. This means that it could come with the Mercedes-sourced 2.6-litre diesel mill which generates a decent 91 hp and 250 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine pairs with a sole 5-speed manual transmission. It will be interesting to see if Force also offers a dedicated 4×4 configuration on the pickup truck. Hence, we await the final details.
Author’s Note
Force Motors is trying to come up with new products to expand its footprint in our market. The 5-door iteration of the Gurkha is already on the verge of launching. It will be the competitor to the mighty Mahindra Thar and Maruti Jimny. Hence, Force Motors aims to leverage the popularity of the Gurkha among the off-roading community in our market to give a tough fight to the Thar and Jimny. With a pickup truck in the equation, things can turn really interesting for the Indian carmaker.
