Ever since Ford decided to quit manufacturing its products in India back in September 2021, there has been a void left in the Indian automobile industry which would be filled by carmakers like Tata, Jeep and VW.
As per a poll conducted on social media platforms, the former Ford car owners have voted Tata as their favourite alternative followed by Jeep and VW. Now that Ford doesn’t produce vehicles in India, its loyal fans are looking for alternatives to replace their cars. The resale value of Ford products has also seen a depreciation due to the concerns regarding the spare parts availability and service in times to come. Hence, shifting to another car brand is imminent.

Ford Owners Decide To Buy Tata & Jeep Cars
The results of the poll were posted on the Ford Lover’s page of Facebook. As the graphic indicates the first preference for the Ford car owners is Tata Motors. This is understandable since Tata products are known for their impressive build quality and great value for money proposition. Ford itself is well-known among its customers for safety and build quality which is the main attraction for Ford car owners. Apart from that, Tata Motors has products in every segment in which Ford operated. Hence, a like-for-like substitution in terms of the segments is possible.
Apart from that, the poll also confirms that people are also looking for options from Jeep and VW and the reasons could be similar. These brands are known for making tough products with great driveability which would make the switch relatively easy. There won’t be too much of a difference between their current cars and potential new cars. Interestingly, not a lot of people have opted for carmakers like Maruti Suzuki or Honda and only a very few are considering Hyundai and Kia. This, in essence, reflects how people get used to their cars over time and would want to replace them with something similar.
