In a snow-filled hill station, MG Hector’s owner found it hard to get out, until a Thar came to rescue.

MG Hector is aimed at tech-savvy users looking for internet-enabled cars. However, the SUV is not the best to drive. Despite its modern features, many customers have been frustrated with the popular car. In a new YouTube video by Small Town Rider, you can see a front-wheel-drive MG Hector struggling to move out from the parking. This incident took place in a snow-covered hill station. As the MG hector was struggling with snow, a Mahindra Thar has to come to its rescue and pull it out. Situations like these warrant the MG Hector owner to be frustrated by the quality of the products. Take a look at the FWD MG Hector fight with snow in the video below.

The MG Hector comes with either a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine with the option of hybrid powertrain for added efficiency, making 143 PS and 250 Nm, or a 2.0-liter diesel that makes 170 PS and 350 Nm. The petrol engine could be mated to either a manual, CVT or DCT automatic gearboxes. The diesel only comes with a manual transmission. The prices of the Hector start from Rs 13.49 lakh to Rs 19.35 lakh, ex-showroom. The chief rivals of the Hector include the likes of Tata Harrie and the recently launched Mahindra XUV700 (in the 5-seat configuration).

On the other hand, the new Mahindra Thar comes with 2 engine options โ€“ a 2.2-liter turbo-diesel and a 2-liter turbo-petrol that output 130 PS/ 320 Nm and 150 PS/320 Nm, respectively. On both, you can choose between two transmission options โ€“ a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with a low range box. Additionally, the company has added a transfer case and a mechanically locking center differential. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and front seatbelt reminder. You also get cruise control, halogen headlamps with LED DRLs, electrically operated AC, steering-mounted controls, a digital MID in the instrument cluster, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The new Mahindra Thar range is priced between Rs 12.78 lakh and Rs 15.08 lakh, ex-showroom.
