Hero Xpulse 200T

Hero Xpulse 200T is scheduled to launch in India in 2019, probably by the first half. Here are some things that you can expect from the new ADV.

It has been a year since the Hero Xpulse 200 was showcased in India. A couple of months back, at the EICMA 2018, Hero unveiled the Xpulse 200T, based on the regular Xpulse.

Hero XPulse 200T is an touring motorcycle while the Xpulse 200 is an off-road focused motorcycle. The difference between both the bikes can be evidently seen, ffrom the design and the bodywork.

Xpulse is basically a heavily refreshed version of the Impulse, which was an average play. Hero plans to launch its new ADV bikes as the most affordable ones in India. Here are some of the things that you need to know about the road-biased ADV.

1. Hero Xpulse 200T is for sure, launching in 2019. The exact period stands unknown, but it is expected to debut by the first half of this year. Earlier, it was scheduled to launch in 2018, but was delayed due to unknown reasons.

2. Like we said, you will be able to differentiate 200T from the regular Xpulse. It gets completely blacked out parts and black alloy wheels. Xpulse offers spoked alloy wheels.

Hero Xpulse 200T gets a tall windscreen, split headlamps, comparatively lower-positioned exhaust muffler and a longer suspension travel. You can expect it to look quite premium and worthy for a road-trip.

3. The Xpulse 200T will be using the same engine that comes on Xtreme 200R. The 199.5cc air-cooled fuel injected engine delivers 18.7 BHP and 17.1 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

However, the Hero Xpulse 200T will receive minor revisions in the engine, to make it off-road friendly. We expect the gearing ratios to be changed and torque delivery to be a bit linear.

4. We expect the Hero Xpulse 200T to be a mild touring motorcycle and not a hardcore one. Given because of its considerable low capacity engine, it might not be suitable for rides over 1000 kms or so.

Its touring capabilities will include a cushioned single seat, a carrier or an extended grab rail at the end, soft suspension and decent headlights. With the aid of fuel injection and the tall windscreen, the ride will be further enhanced.

5. Lastly, our price expectations. At the 2018 Auto Expo, Hero confirmed that it will try to place most of its premium bikes near Rs 1 Lakh. So, we suspect the Hero Xpulse 200T to be priced around Rs 1.2 Lakhs.

It will compete with the likes of upcoming UM DSR Adventure 200 and Royal Enfield Himalayan. The RE adventure motorcycle is the most-affordable one in the market, now.
