Earlier today, Honda Cars India commenced the bookings for the Amaze facelift. The refreshed version of the second-get Honda Amaze can be booked at any authorised dealership for Rs 21,000. Moreover, the interested can book the upcoming model from the comfort of their home on the ‘Honda from Home’ platform for a token amount of Rs 5,000. Interestingly, the announcement of the commencement of bookings come just a few hours after the sub-4-metre sedan received a pretty substantial price update.

The increase in price has been higher for the diesel variants than the petrol models. While all the petrol variants of the Honda Amaze have got costlier by up to Rs 9,563, the diesel version has seen a massive price hike of up to Rs 115,100. The increase in price has been attributed to increase in commodity prices. Also, as the Amaze has just received a price hike, it doesn’t look likely that the upcoming facelift would be launched at an even higher price point.

For its mid-cycle facelift, the Honda Amaze should get minor styling tweaks at the front and rear. The teaser video released earlier today gives us a look at the reshaped headlight that carries an LED projector unit and an L-shaped DRL. It also gives us a glimpse of the revised taillights with a C-shaped glow pattern. Other than this, we also expect the bumpers and the front grille to receive minor updates for a fresher look. The interior could get an upholstery change and perhaps, some additional features. It’s important to mention here that the Amaze is currently the only sub-4-metre sedan to offer a diesel engine option. Also, it’s the only car in its segment to offer a Diesel-CVT combo.
Currently, the Honda Amaze is on sale with two engine options- a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that outputs 88hp and 110 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel motor that is good for 98hp and 200Nm. Both the motors are available with two transmission options – 5-speed manual and CVT. Speaking on the upcoming facelift for the Amaze, Mr Rajesh Goel, Sr. Vice President and Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “Since its debut in 2013, Honda Amaze has won the hearts of more than 4.5 lakh Indian customers making it one of India’s most preferred family sedans. We are extremely excited to add another chapter to the success story of the model with the launch of New Amaze later this month. The new Amaze becomes even more premium, stylish and sophisticated. We are approaching the upcoming festive season with a fully refreshed line-up and hope to create fresh excitement in the market.”
