Hyundai Creta is one of the best-selling SUVs in India, priced starting from Rs 9.99 Lakhs up to Rs 15.67 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Despite gaining new rivals in the segment, its sales have never been affected likewise.
Creta comes in a total of six variants – E+, EX, S, SX, SX (O), SX (O) Executive and in nearly 16 trims spread between petrol and diesel engines. It comes with three engine options – Two diesel and a petrol unit – and two transmission options.
In the base E+ and EX variants of Creta, Hyundai offers the smaller 1.4 Litre diesel unit. As for the other diesel variants, they are offered with the 1.6 Litre engine. The 1.4 Litre unit also comes on the Venue, base variants of Verna and Elite i20.
The 1.4 Litre unit produces 89 BHP and 220 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. In comparison, the 1.6 Litre engine produces 126 BHP and 220 Nm of peak torque, with the same gearbox.
