Soon after launching the new 2017 Hyundai Xcent facelift, the Indian subsidiary of the popular Korean auto giant has also come up with the new Hyundai Grand i10 Prime and Hyundai Xcent Prime. Basically, the new cars are nothing but pre-facelift models that will now cater to the taxi market. In essence, the new 2017 Hyundai Grand i10 Prime is to the Grand i10 facelift what the new Xcent Prime is to the 2017 Xcent facelift. It may be noted that the Maruti Suzuki Ritz has been fairly popular amongst fleet operators and the new Grand i10 Prime, which is a taxi-only model, will be now trying to woo the fleet operators.

Hyundai Grand i10 Prime Price

Prices are yet to be announced, but looking at the prices of the Xcent Prime, it’s highly likely that the Grand i10 Prime will have a starting price of around Rs 4.60 Lakh. The base model of the Grand i10 Prime Diesel is likely to cost roughly Rs 5.70 lakh. Going by the Xcent Prime’s pricing, the top models of the Grand i10 Prime should be significantly cheaper than fully-loaded models of the new Grand i10 facelift.

While the new 2017 Grand i10 facelift comes with a new 1.2-litre Diesel engine, the Grand i10 Prime continues using the old 1.1-litre Diesel motor. The petrol Grand i10 Prime shares its 1.2-litre Petrol engine with the 2017 Grand i10 facelift. The Grand i10 Prime gets a 5-speed Manual Transmission for both the engine variants.

As both the engines for the Grand i10 Prime come form the pre-facelift model, the mileage figures for the Prime model should be the same as those of the earlier Grand i10.
