Hyundai Venue v/s Mahindra XUV300 – Engine & Price comparison

The sub-4-metre compact SUV segment is booming and the latest entry to the line-up is Hyundai Venue. Let pit it against the Mahindra XUV300 which was launched in February 2019

Hyundai finally made an entry to the sub-4 metre SUV with the Venue. The car is priced at Rs 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom) which definitely gives other manufacturers a run for their money. Its competition varies from Maruti Brezza to the oldest running sub-4-metre SUV, Ford Ecosport, Tata Nexon and the newly launched Mahindra XUV300.

Here we will tell you how the newly launched Hyundai Venue stands up against the Mahindra XUV300. The XUV300 is also a new product launched in February and the compact SUV is at par with over 26000 bookings.

Hyundai Venue vs Mahindra XUV300 Engine Specifications

Both the cars are available in both petrol as well as diesel engines. Hyundai Venue is available in two petrol and one diesel engine whereas Mahindra XUV300 is only available in single petrol and diesel engine.

Diesel Engine Specification

Hyundai Venue is powered by a 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine which produces 89 bhp and 220 Nm of torque. On the other hand, Mahindra XUV300 produces a whopping power of 110 bhp at 5000 rpm with 200 Nm of peak torque at 2000 rpm.

Petrol Engine Specification

Hyundai Venue has an added advantage as it gets two petrol engine and a choice of automatic transmission too. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine gets mated to 5-speed manual transmission and produces 83bhp of power with 115Nm of torque. The other engine, 1.0-litre turbocharged engine produces 120 bhp with 172Nm of torque. It gets mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT.

Mahindra XUV300 is available only in 6-speed manual transmission. The 1.2-litre, 3 cylinder churns out 110bhp of power with 200Nm of peak torque
