Mahindra XUV300 BS-VI will probably be launched before the new emission norms hit that is April 2020
Manufacturers are gearing up to bring the BS-VI vehicles and several test mules have been spotted on Indian roads. The recent one is Mahindra XUV300 BS-VI. The compact SUV was spotted on Chennai-Tinivandam highway.
The car sports a red number plate and a sticker on its fuel-filler cap signifying BS-VI. The company must be checking its emission norms ahead of the launch. According to Motor Vikatan, this is a 1.5-litre diesel vehicle with BS-VI engine.
Mahindra XUV300 is available in both petrol and diesel engine currently. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol motor generates 110bhp of power with 200Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine is borrowed from Marazzo. However, power figures have been detuned and it now makes 115bhp on tap with 300Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and there is no availability of an automatic transmission.
The compact SUV hosts some first in class segment features like dual-zone climate control, heated wing mirrors, all-wheel disc brakes and seven airbags on the safety front.
The interiors of the car feature a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the connectivity of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Electric sunroof and leatherette upholstery are other highlights too.
The car gets projector headlamps with LED DRL’s and LED taillamps on the exteriors. It also gets 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels for the enhanced look. The car gets ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, ESP with Roll-over Mitigation, Child seat anchor points and seat belt warning as some of the safety features.
Mahindra is also set to bring out an all-electric variant of KUV300 by the end of this year. The same can be expected for XUV300 too but will be launched by next year probably. Currently, it is the Mahindra XUV300 BS-VI that will roll out in diesel and then petrol lately.
Mahindra XUV300 starts with a price range of Rs 7.90 lakh for the base trim and goes up to Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It competes with Maruti Brezza, Ford Ecosport, Tata Nexon and the upcoming Hyundai Venue.
