Ahead of the launch, Gaadiwaadi has leaked the interiors of the new Renault Kwid. Inside the cabin, there is a big change in the form of a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system from the Triber, which will get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The interior looks inspired by the Triber, with a slightly different AC vent. You get steering-wheel audio controls and the instrument console also comes from the Triber in the Kwid Facelift.
Further, the other set of spy shots also reveal that the hatchback will now come with sleed LED DRLs and LED taillights as well. Exterior changes will include refreshed front and rear bumpers along with with a new chrome-plated grille.
Renault will continue with the 1.0 Litre and the 0.8 Litre engines on the Kwid, but both will now be BS-6 compliant. The 1-litre engine produces 68 BHP and 91 Nm of peak torque, while the 800cc engines givers 54 BHP and 72 Nm of torque.
For transmission, both the engines will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the 1.0 Litre engine will get a 5-speed AMT as an option.
With the facelift, we expect the price of Renault Kwid to start off at around Rs 3 Lakhs, going up to Rs 5.5 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It is soon getting a new rival in the form of Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, which is another SUV-type hatchback. Other than that, Kwid competes with the likes of Maruti Alto 800, Alto K10 and Datsun Redi-GO.
