Earlier, the Isuzu MU-X India price range started at Rs. 23.99 Lakh. The 4×4 model costed Rs 25.99 lakh. Now, however, the prices have seen a reduction and the base model MUX now costs Rs 22.40 lakh. The 4×4 model costs Rs 24.40 lakh. Thanks to the recent price cuts, the MU X costs a lot lesser than the Fortuner. The price advantage gets even more if you compare the 4×4 models. On comparing the specs, you can see that while the MU X offers a single engine option, the Fortuner offers you both a Petrol and a Diesel engine. Also, while the MU X offers a choice of a 5-speed Manual and a 5-speed Automatic transmission, the Fortuner offers a 6-speed Manual and a 6-speed Automatic transmission for the Diesel engine. The Isuzu MU X gets a really butch appearance in comparison to the rather sleek look of the Fortuner. Don’t get us wrong though, for the new Fortuner does have an imposing stance and enough street presence. The MU X, however, thanks to its larger dimensions and more in-your-face design, manages to have a more daunting appearance than the Fortuner. From the looks of it, the MU X will have a street presence comparable to the new Ford Endeavour. While the MU X looks more rugged, the Fortuner provides a good blend of sophistication and ruggedness, which ends up giving it a more premium look.

If you compare the interior of the new Fortuner with of the MU X, the former looks a lot more futuristic and even more premium. The cabin of the MU X is much like that of the Chevrolet Trailblazer. This means the MU X gets the same circular auto aircon setup. Both the new Fortuner and the MU X come with a touchsreen interface for the infotainment unit. Both the models also offer three rows of seats. However, the MU X offers more cabin space.
