The much anticipated MY21KTM 125 Duke has been launched on 7th December 2020. It may well be a 125cc engine, but it is sure to give more powerful bikes a run for their money. With its KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R inspired styling and updated suspension setup and a larger fuel tank, it will definitely appeal to the rider who loves to take this machine to long distances. Design-wise it can not be mistaken for anything else than a KTM. The styling is sharp and modern just like the sibling KTM series.
What is new in the MY21 New KTM Duke 125?
The distinct new style includes sharper and more aggressive bodywork and a much more authoritative riding position along with the new rider and passenger seats. It also gets a bolt-on rear subframe, a larger steel tank and steeply rising lines. The capacity of the fuel tank has also been increased to 13.5 litres and the position of the fuel tank allows better leg contact and feel. These two factors alone are a big boon to the riders who prefer to take this machine for long rides.
What comes as an absolute delight to the enthusiast bikers is the all-new WP front and back Suspension setup, which will enable the rider to transverse across various terrains and conditions in India. Specifications include 14.5 PS of peak power at 9250 rpm and 12 Nm of peak torque at 8000 rpm with a liquid-cooled injection system for lightning-quick responses and great refinement levels across the entire rpm range. Considering an introductory price of Rs 1.5 lacs ex-showroom Delhi, it is a bargain especially for the young riders because of the popularity of KTM.
The new 2020 KTM Duke 125 will give tough competition to other mid-segment motorcycles in the 125 to 200 CC segment. Some popular bikes in this segment include the Yamaha R15 V3, Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 primarily both of which are sporty motorcycles. With youth gravitating more towards the stylish and modern bikes compared to conventional commuter style motorcycles, this segment is growing more important for all the two-wheeler brands in India.
